Today in the mail I received the zines that I ordered from a dude named Dave Gunn (uglyuglyugly.tumblr.com). I knew I would absolutely adore everything within the package when I noticed that it was wrapped in a map. I got four of his zines from a series and another EXTREMELY useful zine that lists the vegan options at plenty of different restaurants. Eating out is actually a lot easier than I have been allowing it to be. I’ll be keeping that one in my car. As for the others, I’ve read a bit into the first zine and adore it already. Any fan of DIY art and realist literature will love them. I’ll be getting some newly discovered vegan fast-food and reading the rest of them tonight.

Basically, I am posting this to highly recommend any of my vegan followers to both follow him at uglyuglyugly.tumblr.com AND order a zine from his etsy at http://www.etsy.com/shop/discomfort . I really think that the fast food guide is essential to any vegan and I promise you’ll enjoy everything you read from this dude.

I can still love animals and eat meat!

Nope.

But the food chain!

Nope.

But look at our teeth!

Nope.

But free range!

Nope.

But sustainable farms!

Nope.

But lions and zebras!

Nope.

But humane!

Nope.

Good Clean Fun: “The Vegan Revolution Draft Dodger Anthem”. This is the song whose lyrics always echoed in my brain as I selfishly continued to put off going vegan and kept ordering cheese pizzas.

Lyrics:
I think fur is a crime, I protest all the time
You should see all my bumper stickers
That “Firestorm” song sure gets me singing along
My righteousness never flickers
I think PETA is swell and vivisectionists go to hell
I live to fight the man
And if there is ever a cause with no dietary laws
I’ll be the first to take a stand

The animals, I see their pain with ease
But don’t expect me to give up pizza with cheese

The animals, I see their pain with ease
But don’t expect me to eat a pizza without cheese

I know I could be the best vegan the world’s seen
It’s such a shame my doctor says I can’t because I need the protein
What’s right or what’s wrong is not a tough decision
But animal torture is a part of my new religion
Hey, you know that I am down with what it’s about
Did I happen to mention I need the strength to work out?
Because I am building up muscle, I’m a growing boy
Such a cruel twist of fate, I’m allergic to soy

Excuses, excuses are not for me
I’ve wised up, but these leather shoes were free
These shoes were free

This quote was hands down the best part of The Dictator.

WHAT. I had no desire to see this movie but I just might have to see it just out of a solid respect for this quote.
